And now here are links to some prior posts about this foul day. The comments on some of them are kind of fun.

Preach it Brother!
When I was in high school, my best friend and I called ourselves the Morbid Sisters and wore black on Valentines Day.
I still do. I so hate this holiday. It has come to Israel now. Which sucks.
Dude, You remain a victim as long as you notice that the day exists. I didn't even realize it was some sort of calendared something or other until someone pointed it out to me last night; I was like, oh, whatever.
BTW, I don't observe Mother's day, Father's Day, Halloween (oh, well, I do put out a bowl of candy; but the kids have to be willing to eat whatever weird flavor is on sale at the local Korean market.Last year it was tomato hard candies and some sort of soft melon flavored something), or any of those. I barely notice my own birthday most years.
If you want to go out to dinner and get some, just ask. Why should I have to wait until February?
FP,
I am trying.
Gila,
The Morbid Sisters. I like it.
KRG,
Not a victim, an activist for change.
I have a husband who will kiss you for this (maybe he'd even be your valentine!)
