How Long Will You Keep On Blogging?

This is the question of the moment. How long do you expect to keep on blogging? Do you have any sense of how long you can keep on going?

Will you be one of those bloggers who comes on fast and furious and then suddenly disappears or will you be here for the long haul.

What do you think?

I imagine that I will stop blogging once I get a job that doesn't require me to sit at a desk bored for eight hours a day - so hopefully in the next two years.

Good questions. Particularly as someone who's been reading blogs for a while, but only started my own a couple of weeks ago, I wonder about this myself. I guess most bloggers figure they will go on for as long as they still have what to share. Some great bloggers call it quits or fizzle out, and it's a shame. Do you think blogging itself is an outlet that is necessary at some point and then the blogger moves on? Are you trying to say that you've had it with yours?! (No!)

I tend to vary my rate of productivity depending on work / vacation / etc, but I think I'm into the blogging thing for the long haul.

Until I don't enjoy it.

I agree with Ezzie. I'll do it until it's no longer fun.

We stopped daily production, but we seem to continue in fits and stops. It's fun to write and nice to get comments.

I plan to blog until I die. My blogs are "records" of my spiritual development and life journey. Someday, I'd like to publish the best parts as a legacy for my children and descendents. This is my only dream.

My newest blog, Craftwork Of A Jewitch, which I just started building November 1st, is an attempt to organize "my records" into some kind of "seder". My other blogs are more like unorganized diaries and thoughts "as they come". There's no order and no specificity of thought - unorganized streams of consciousness - which is also good "for the record".

As long as it keeps evolving and people still visit. I started TJWG just as a way to keep in touch with my sister-in-law and a few friends.

Now its all about photographing Los Angeles.

When I first started, my little blog made it all the way to the 400's in the Truth Laid Bear ranking. Now it's 2100 or something. The focus of my blog is constantly changing but for the past year it's been a journal in dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. I write for another blog as well. Recently, I've created a blog for my photographs.

Since I like to write, I don't see me stopping any time soon. All should be esposed to the benfit of my wisdom!!! :)

I hope you're not thinking of quiting.

Shoshana,

We'll have to wait and see.

Raggedymom,

Blogging is a great outlet. Some people just run out of steam.

Claire,

That makes sense to me.

Ezzie,

A solid answer.

Kate,

See above. ;)

M,

I was glad to see you guys start again.

Liorah,

I can appreciate that. I have always thought that it would be nice for my kids to see this one day.

Gooch,

So I see. Nice to see that you are back again.

Chana,

May it be for a 1000 years.

Elie,

Same as Chana.

-k-

Makes sense to me.

Seawitch,

All the way into the 400s. That is pretty cool. I have been somewhere in the 2000s forever now.

I've already really slowed down with the blogging. I only do it when I have time. It's not a huge priority in my life.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Excellent queston. I'll stop blogging when no one wants to hear what I have to say anymore. Then I'll write a book. ;)

Thanks for stopping by!

Stace,

But still you continue.

PT,

Correctumundo.

Megan,

As long as your book is different than the one I want to write. ;)

I have really slowed down my posting, but I still really enjoy it. I love writing, and love reading what's going on with others

I find it much harder to blog from my new job, but ironically I have more readers that ever before.
I really do enjoy having a place to write out what I'm thinking (I used a notebook before blogger) but the feedback just takes it to a whole other level. I don't but too much pressure on myself to blog more than 1-2 times a week but I'm hooked, no doubt!

I guess I'll keep posting as long as I enjoy and have things to say (which I know other people have already said, but it's true for me too!)

Still one of the most popular posts on the blog.
