A Moment In Time

This afternoon I had an experience that I like to call "A Moment In Time." I am sure that many of you have had similar experiences. What it is an instant in which a smell, a sound, a gesture or something similar spurs a memory of a past experience.

Quite a number of my moments are tied into Israel and this was no exception. I was walking through a parking lot on my way to lunch when I heard people speaking Hebrew and I suddenly smelled something and it made me feel like I was walking through Givat Hatachmoshet.

For a moment I could picture olive trees and the faces of friends and then reality came back and smacked me in the face, I am in Los Angeles and it has been six years since my last trip. I have itchy feet, time to make things happen.

Givat Hatachmoshet is one of my favorite (war-related) places in Israel. That and Har Herzl. They have both moved me tremendously every time I have visited them.
