This presidential election is really nasty, probably the nastiest that I remember. And it has done a fine job of splitting the country into segmented groups. Both parties are using Fear to try and rally the people around them.
I find that to be distasteful and a poor tactic to use to generate support. But what I am also tired of is listening to the bullshit that is spewed out about what or who Democrats/Republicans are. People are people, some are good and some are bad. And there are good and bad in both parties.
If we'd stop trying to categorize the "others" as being evil it would make the world a nicer place to live.

Agreed. The partisan crapola has gotten completely out of hand. I doubt I will ever register as either.
"Why can't we all just ... get along?"As uttered by President James Dale (Jack Nicholson) in the otherwise atrocious Mars Attacks!Good question, if you ask me.

Re: People
I agree that people are people and there are good and bad behaviors from every one of us- there are good people everywhere...that said, my experience in the palisades sept 10 th was my experience- I was treated horribly by people who saw me and heard me say my name and that i am with the DNC-
that was enough for 18 of them to justify thier ill treatment of a stranger at their door- I was raised differently and so it was a shock.
I was and am working on becoming more compassionate, even while living in L.A. (I find grace easier in New Orleans). i believe we are all connected as one and that what we do creates ripples.
Wearing a shirt and name tag that says DNC brought out responses from people that challenged me.
I am not a registered Democrat. I work with the party currently because President Bush goes against my ethics and morals/values- on a core level.
on a core level- causes people to stand up and SAY SOMETHING
