Should Movies be used for Regime Change?

"LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Filmmaker Michael Moore and the distributors behind "Fahrenheit 9/11" are in talks to bring his anti-Bush documentary to pay-per-view television on the eve of the U.S. presidential election, a source in Moore's camp said on Friday. "

Regular readers are aware that I dislike Moore. I find him to be a disingenuous hypocrite who makes a living off the sadness of others while trying to represent himself as being noble.

His films may entertaining, but they are riddled with inaccuracies.

That being said, one of my complaints with society at large is the lack of desire and or effort to really dig into the issues and understand what is happening. There is little to no critical reasoning being used.

So I am very concerned about the ability of the movie industry to influence elections. My concern is not partisan based, I wouldn't want this for any party.

I am a big proponent of free speech so I can't say that I want this be banned, but it does make a me a little uncomfortable.

Just looking at the title of your post.
Propaganda. We have used this tactic for a for a long time. Our goverment has made and helped fund several t.v. shows in the last year dealing with the fbi, cia and terrorism. We still fund movies overseas to help in the propangada war in other countrys.

I respect micheal moore for standing up for what he believes in. for the last 15 years I have thought his life would end suddenly by a killers bullet. Watch him while you can-- Sadly- He is not long for this world.
