Would You Prefer More Readers or More Comments?

Here is a simple question for you. Would you prefer to have more readers or more comments on your blog? Or does it matter to you.

After five years of blogging I think that I have established that I am going to blog regardless of whether people read or comment. Still, I won't lie and say that I wouldn't prefer more of both. It is nice to know that people are paying attention to what is going on.

At the same time I always remind myself to be careful what you ask for because you just might get it. Sometimes the dream is a bit different from the reality.

There should be a balance between the both. Though It's good if we have comments on the post, that means people believe on us and they want to add more value to the post

I do like the comments a lot.

And some comments are better than others, such as the ones left by a certain "Jack." Like those! ;-)

Balance is important. It is nice to see that people read and are engaged.

Leora,

That Jack guy is getting awfully busy and finding it harder to get around to comment. Kind of frustrating.

I do believe nice to have good readers than comments if you quality posts comments will automatically come

Just like a guy said...

You get a lot more comments when you don't have comment moderation and word verification on. I haven't had either for well over a year, and BH I've never had a problem. And I get a fair amount of comments.

Great post and just the inspiration I needed for a new blog post as well ... I had been thinking about this for a few days when I came across your blog

I like to think that my followers are regular readers; and those who want to comment will comment. There are a handful who regularly comment - which I appreciate :)

Otherwise - the readers but non-commenters are known as lurkers - I read that somewhere too .. and it's cool to be a lurker but nice to be known too !!

Do drop by my blog - have linked to you in my post :)

Venkat,

I hear you. I really do strive for a balance between the two.

TRS,

I go back and forth with that. I have had a lot of bad experiences with the moderation turned off.

Fiona,

Sure, even when they are advertising.

M,

I still come and check you guys out.

Daze,

Lurkers are a big part of blogging. That is why we have international delurking day.

Still Driving Traffic

Still one of the most popular posts on the blog.
