As I surf the blogosphere I have to say that I am disappointed by many of the conservative bloggers and their reactions to the election. The latest trend by many is to try and smear those who voted for Obama by claiming that they are all ignorant. In between there is a lot of rhetoric about how much more tolerant the right is about differing point of views.
In my experience I have found just as many ignorant conservatives as I have liberals. It is rather disheartening to see how many people seem to have slept through their civics courses. It is disheartening to see how many of them seem to be completely bereft of logic and the ability to engage in critical reasoning.
But what really makes me roll my eyes are the constant remarks about sheeple. It is no different than the eyerolling I did for those who made fun of people who voted for Bush. It just proves that people are people no matter who they vote for.

How anyone with a brain could vote for a ticket w/Palin on it is beyond me.

Stacey (hope this finds you well!, what is perplexing to me is how anyone who is even remotely conservative can vote for the most liberal ticket that has ever run in this country. You can honestly say that our President-elect, who wants to negotiate and reason with Ahmadinejad, who wants to wipe jews off the face of the planet.. is a better choice than McCain because of Palin?
Jack (I hope this finds you well, too!) -- you're sounding like you've been drinking the water from El Cajon!
Hope you both have a very nice Thanksgiving surrounded by all those you love.
Laurie
Hi Laurie,
In your comment you label people liberal, conservative....why are you so partisan? For the record, I am and have always been an independent.
Voting for Obama was a no-brainer for me. As soon as McCain chose the inept Palin, my hands were tied.
I have more faith in Obama leading the country than having some Evangelical whack-job (whose church gives $$$ and an audience to Jews for Jesus and other groups actively trying to convert Jews to Christianity) a breath from the presidency.
Your post sounds like a sound-bite straight out of the Drudge Report or Hannity.
If you seriously believe that Obama is unconcerned about Iran re: Israel, then I have some swampland to sell you....
The election is over. Obama has put together a great economic team and Hillary is in line to be Sec. of State. BTW, Hillary was the 1st senator who went to Israel after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
McCain's mistake was losing us independents. Instead, his pandering to the religious right, his horrific choice of palin and cluelessness on the economy lost him this important election. Deservedly so.
Have a great Turkey Day, too!
Stacey
Laurie,
Stacey is right. Palin is a tool. I have trouble finding anything positive to say about her.
Unqualified, inexperienced, intellectually lazy. She couldn't answer a simple question about what she reads.
How hard is it to come up with some names. Lie to me, pretend you read, mention The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, something.
I am not convinced that Obama is the perfect president, but thus far I like what I see.
In the end I couldn't vote for a 72 year old man who selected such a poor running mate.
