Makes me almost want to subscribe to the right-wing fantasy world, but we have seen what happens when we get all macho and can’t back it up -- contractors and cronies get rich and patriotic Americans get killed.
Dream on, man. First of all Patton, while a vicious racist and psychotic warmongerer, was waaay funnier and more clever than the twerpy keyboard warrior that made this video.
Secondly, you might want to watch how much you praise an anti-semite. Some choice Patton quotes about the Holocaust survivors he liberated:
"We entered a synagogue which was packed with the greatest stinking bunch of humanity I have ever seen. Either these Displaced Persons never had any sense of decency or else they lost it all during their period of internment by the Germans... My personal opinion is that no people could have sunk to the level of degradation these have reached in the short space of four years."
And
"[others] may believe... that the Displaced Person is a human being, which he is not, and this applies particularly to the Jews, who are lower than animals."
Misanthrope,
I hear you. I am not happy with how things have gone with the war. Not by a long shot.
Saladin,
I am well familiar with those quotes. He had his moments and like all generals there are all sorts of things that can be said about him. But he got the job done.
Saladin,
P.S. Unlike some of the others in the sphere, I won't ask you to leave just because we may disagree on things. Stick around if you wish. We may never see eye to eye on things, or maybe we just might find common ground. Who knows.
Jack's Shack:
Appreciate the sentiment, even if we do disagree vehemently. Not enough civility out here in the blogosphere.
I try. I am not always successful, but without diplomacy there are no true revolutions.
