What is Christian Domestic Discipline?
A domestic discipline marriage is one in which one partner in the marriage is given authority over the other and has the means to back the authority, usually by spanking.
A Christian Domestic Discipline marriage is one that is set up according to Biblical standards; that is, the husband is the authority in the household. The wife is submissive to her husband as is fit in the Lord and her husband loves her as himself. He has the ultimate authority in his household, but it is tempered with the knowledge that he must answer to God for his actions and decisions. He has the authority to spank his wife for punishment, but in real CDD marriages this is taken very seriously and usually happens only rarely. CDD is so much more than just spanking. It is the husband loving the wife enough to guide and teach her, and the wife loving the husband enough to follow his leadership. A Christian marriage embodies true romance and a Christian man a true hero.
Though this seems unusual in today's United States, this kind of marriage has been practiced throughout history and is still practiced in many parts of the world today.
The point is that the dynamics of marriage are not uniform. Each couple is going to have their way of doing things. Some people might very well get off on living this way. It does have sexual overtones to it. I'd rather not go down that path because it gives me this nightmarish image of Pat Robertson and I just cannot and will not think of him in this manner. Ok, on to the next topic, Jewish Domestic Discipline.

Alrighty, my background's mixed, so I happen to know a few things about either side of the medal:
whoever wrote that article / paragrapgh has no clue of Christian doctrine; Paulus (who is considered the least feminist among the first-generation Christian theologians) clearly stated that in a marriage each partner should be submissive to the respective other, the idea being that neither partner puts selfishness over a fulfilled relationship. Things changed in actual practice (as patriarchically coined societies were predominant), but even the most critical scholar of Christian doctrine has to admit that inferiority of women is not a Christian idea, Jesus of Nazareth even occasionally is declared to be the first feminist.
I don't know what's so interesting about this, anyway. It's a couple with a discipline fetish, covering up their discomfort with it by clothing it in terms of some other sort of thing.
IMO, just let them have some fun, and leave the rhetoric out ofit.

They might say that about you. Religion is a funny beast.
KRG,
It certainly sounds like that.
Why can't they just admit they like spanking the luscious bare bottom of a subserviant sex slave?
That works for me...
There are people's personal opinions, and then there is the official teachings. All Christian denominations agree on the mandatoriness of the Christian Bible, and this clearly eradicates any basis for discrimination against females, no matter how you twist it.
First thought that popped into my head on reading this? Fancied up, "Christianised" BDSM.
I practice loving DD and I can assure that discipline spankings have nothing to do with sex in my household. We don't even have sex after them. They are pure discipline punishments. There is not pleasure for me (I am in pain) and my husband is trying to deliver a message and He know is painful.
DD is more about feminine and masculine energies that work together to have a loving relationship.
I believe in Christian domestic discipline. It's not abuse, no matter what haters say. It is discipline, and all women could benefit from it. You can hate it if you choose. But the bottom line is this. I may not agree with your interpretation of the Bible or believe in anything you believe spiritually, but You have that right to believe what you will. We as Christians have the right to believe what we want and what we believe the Bible says. If you don't like it, that's just too bad. He was alone and and stick to your own religion or whatever you believe. We will live as we please. I don't care if you like it or not, just back the hell off and stop acting like you're better than us who practice domesticI don't care But the question is, how is your mom? Domestic discipline has actually improved marriages. Make a bad marriage is good and good marriage is great. So please, just back off, because I'm tired of the debate, it's tiring and old.
Abusers always claim innocence.
