Very few of us are Trust Fund Babies so it is safe to say that the overwhelming majority of readers are employed or were at one time. Sadly, relatively few of us have the opportunity to work in our dream job.
Sometimes that is because you do not know what that would be. And sometimes it is just because you haven't found a way to live your dream.
My question for you now is what is your dream job? If you are not currently doing it what do you intend to do to rectify that situation?

thankfully I really enjoy most of my work and the career path i chose because even throughout high school, i chose subjects that i would enjoy because i know that if i didn't i wouldn't bother.
as much as i love graphic design though, i have always wanted to be a glass artist and i did almost do the course for that but it wasn't so practical at the time. maybe one day in the future.
my other dream job is much more accessible and that is to become a fitness trainer and that's not such a long course.
I used to want to be a published scientist. I don't anymore. My dream job is to own and run a small nooky craft store with homemade incense blends, candles, and other kinds of craftwork, small teaching classes and books. A unique little shop that witchy women would love to come into - just to be there for the "witchy woman" atmosphere.
I'd also like to become an expert herbalist, in both a kabbalistic and a biochemical-scientific sense, have a garden and grow many of the herbs I'd use in the blends. Oh, that would be heaven. ...
I would like to work in the marketing department of a big cell phone manufacturing company.
Two interests of mine combined.
Well, i don't really have a 'dream job' but i do have a strong feeling that your talents shouldn't be thrown to waste, not just for yourself but also for other people.
I would really want to be something high up in government, as than i could really make a difference. As most of my interests are in foreign policy, i would like to be secretary of State or Defense, or preferably Prime Minister(highest electable position in government here.)
I now have a (small) business, which i like, but i have always and probably always will have a strong desire to change things(also things that are failing on a national level, such as the education system) and the way to structurally do this is through politics.
Like i said, i enjoy having a business but its also kinda boring and i can't put all my creativity and talents in it. So it leaves me unfulfilled.
I also always wanted to go to America in the position of diplomat. I read a library about U.S. foreign policy, society and politics so i think i could really find my way.

My dream job is practicing international law, either in the area of Trade or Security (or both). I'm working towards that right now, being in the first year of law school... Something's telling me it may take a while, but I'll get there! Additionally, one day, I would really want to see my writing become strong enough to be appreciated by many people... but I'm not quite sure what that really means.
I am very fortunate, thank G-d. When I get frustrated, I have to remind myself (or be reminded) that I'm living my dream job. I've done lots of things in my life, had three different careers, none of them fulfilling.
I've been surrounded by books since before I could read, worked many a job related to books. And some twelve years ago, I wanted a job that would be immersed in Judaism, giving something back to the Jewish community. I toyed with rabbinical school and knew, sadly, it just wouldn't work out. So now I play one on paper.
Work steeped in Judaism and books while also being able to stay home and raise my children... I couldn't ask for better.
I'm thinking of running for President, just like everyone else.
If that fails, I'll just stick to my 3 day jobs- genetics research, writing & teaching second grade Hebrew school; I love 'em all.

And it would spell the end of my marriage so I'm not taking any steps towards making it a reality.
I enjoy my job very much. Today was day back after vacation and I think I irked teachers and students a like by saying that I was truly happy to be back.
Part of my dreams are - teaching more broad cross-sections of students, performing more, writing and publishing more, teaching poetry and fiction readng and writing, using my MSW to work as a socialworker/therapist, did I mention publishing?...

I meant to post a comment to this yesterday, but it was a lil' crazy around the office.
My dream job would be to be able to make a living from writing/cartooning/doing illustrations.
I create things, take classes to create better things. Just have to plug away and get stuff out there and hope it gets noticed, which I'm doing.
But honestly, I'm kind of content right now just being able to do those things when I'm not workin' for The Man.
