As a kid I enjoyed reading comic books. As a child trapped in a man's body I readily admit that I still enjoy reading them. I am not anywhere close to a hard core collector, can't remember when I last purchased one.
Anyhoo, I just learned that the 911 Report has been made into a comic book. I am not real sure about how I feel about this. I suspect that upon reflection I am going to come to the conclusion that I am not a supporter of this effort. It feels watered down and lacking the appropriate solemnity that is required.
You can find more samples here. What do you think?

Comic books are simply a particular form of media, a melding of word and picture, literaure and art. They can be as childish or as profound as television, movies, or books can be. Comics have dealt with the Holocaust (Maus) and produced a modern masterpiece (Watchmen) - there's no reason 9/11 should be off limits.
I think probably lacking the deserved respect too, how can you turn something where so many lives were taken and destroyed into a comic book??
wow this is a tough one
Elie,
I hear you, there is a lot of truth to what you say. I suppose that what makes it hard for me is that comics have been a refuge from reality.
Baleboosteh,
It is hard.
MBM,
I think so.
I, personally, believe that the report is a lot of nonsense. it would probably benefit immensely from being made into a comic book.
I agree with you, Jack. As much as it breaks down the whole horrible day into easy, understandable form...the whole idea of 9/11 as a comic book bothers me. Nope, I don't like it.
