Web Design for Morons

I am a technology savvy professional who surfs the web daily. I have a rudimentary grasp of HTML, can program a VCR, cell phone and set a clock within an automobile without any sort of trouble.

In short if I have trouble navigating your website it is because you used the Web Design for Morons guidebook.

How do you know if your web design team used the Web Design For Morons guidebook?

1) If it takes more than one minute to find contact information (email, telephone, fax, carrier pigeon) than you used the Web Design For Morons guidebook.
2) If the link or links to your contact information are broken than you used the Web Design For Morons guidebook
3) If your homepage has more content on it than War and Peace you used the Web Design For Morons guidebook.

These are just a couple of the tests you can conduct to determine if you used the Web Design For Morons guidebook. There are others.

If you conduct business online I have a reasonable expectation that your site is not going to contain any of these elements. It should have an easy interface and intuitive design that makes it simple for me to stroll through your store and find what I am looking for. It should also be simple for me to pay for said item(s) so that I can have an easy check out.

Those of you who used the Web Design For Morons guidebook do not follow these simple guidelines and can expect to be homeless and living on regurgitated cat food in the very near future.

And thus ends my silly rant.
