Carnival of Contractors

It is time for an update on the Carnival O'Contractors here at the Shack. Since we last spoke there have been multiple meetings of the mind and body with various contractors.

Each of them have been thoroughly questioned about their thoughts and ideas for how to improve the Shack. And like any good contractor they all said that if you have money anything is possible.

The best description of these meetings is as a cheap knockoff of Abbot and Costello's Who's On First Routine. If I was feeling exceptionally clever I might even try to bang out my own version of it, but I don' think that I am up for it right now.

Anyway, I know what I am looking for in a contractor. I want the obvious: Reliable, affordable high quality workmanship. In addition I am very interested in service. I want someone who is willing to walk me through all of the steps of each portion of the job.

I want their professional input and advice on how to do things. I want suggestions and guidance. I am not interested in paying them solely for the actual work. No, I want them to also serve as a construction advisor.

I don't think that this is too much to ask.

You could use my guy (see Mrs. Balabusta's blog). But you'd have to move to Wisconsin.
