New Computer- Same Old Hassles

The title of this post is actually a bit of a misnomer. I am not currently having the same old problems as before, but I have had a monstrous amount of work.

It is the typical task of moving old data to the new computer, or should I say trying to determine what should be moved. I have an 80 Gig external hard drive that is currently housing most of the old stuff. The goal is the same as in any move, get rid of the junk and keep just what is absolutely necessary.

The biggest challenge with this has been a time issue. The initial purchase of the unit was fraught with issues. They were primarily caused by software conflicts. It took a while for me to sort all of that out, but once I did things began to move.

However this didn't change certain basic elements of my life. The two forces of nature, my progeny, the hurricane and the twister. They are the most important people in my life, all others come second, including myself. It is a hard thing to do sometimes and a regular challenge, but they are worth it.

All I know is that I woke up before 7 am on a Sunday morning with the intention of getting more down but the natural disaster crew woke up with me and I found myself otherwise occupied. There was a lot of laughter and more than a couple of shrieks. That reminds me, at some point I have to post about spelling again.

Anyway, I have to go run to take care of some more mundane tasks around the house and the 'puter. Back later.
