In this undated image made available from NASA on Sunday March 5, 2006, which shows the central region of a group of galaxies 300 million light-years away known as Stephan's Quintet. The distant galaxy is generating a 'sonic boom' of cosmic proportions, astronomers have discovered, as one of the galaxies falls towards the others at high speed, ploughing through a cloud of hydrogen gas travelling at 540.6 miles per second - 100 times faster than the speed of sound. The effect of this is similar to the sonic boom created by a fast jet, according to astonomers at the American space agency Nasa, using the Spitzer space telescope, and their findings are to be published later in March, in the Astrophysical Journal. A Hubble Space Telescope image of Messier 101, the gigantic Pinwheel galaxy. An advertising stunt in which a golf ball will be whacked into orbit from the International Space Station (ISS) has met a chilly reception from scientists, who say the scheme is risky and adds to the growing problem of space junk(AFP/NASA)

A smiley face in the picture too.
Take Care
Michael
I want to settle other planets.
There are no practical purposes anymore to sent people into outer space. Data and specimen collection can be done more efficiently, safer and cheaper by a drone.
The only reason astronauts still exist is national prestige.
Me too.
Michael,
Absolutely.
Steg,
Does that mean you wish to engage in your own hitnakut here.
DJ,
Chag sameach to you.
Zeruel,
I disagree there are medical tests that cannot be conducted on earth that could prove to be of immense value.
PT,
We could make you an official space cadet. ;)
GT,
I once convinced a friend who is a Cohen that traveling in space would make him crazy as he would forever be passing over cemetaries.
I so want to be an astronaut also. Just looking at those pictures makes me want to go up and see them with my own eyes. Maybe one day...
Shoshana,
I would leave today and begin my training tomorrow.
Aaron,
There is something amazing about them.
