Very interesting article. I've been reading a book, "Holocaust", which has filled in a lot of gaps in my knowledge. I had never read an account of the persecution of Jews in France before.
It was good to have the background to understand how real the danger was that Rey was fleeing.

Fascinating. I did not know about this.
Hi Q,
I am consistently amazed by the stories I hear about the Holocaust. There are so many levels to this fascination/horror I feel.
In large part I am overwhelmed about man's ability to hurt each other. I look at the Holocaust and I am well aware that in addition to the Jews there were gypsies, gays and many others.
I look at Rwanda, I look at Kosovo, I look at what the Turks did to the Armenians and what I see are far too many examples of a willingness on the part of men to ignore the humanity of other men.
This I suppose is part of why I believe that sometimes it is a moral obligation to fight with fury.
Stacey,
Glad that you enjoyed it.
Thank you for this, I can't wait to get the book.
MP,
Me too.
