That is a true story, or at least I always assumed that he was telling the truth. After all it was in front of his colleagues.

A very funny story, and you told it well!

It was great hearing your voice. The audio post has a very different flavor than the written posts. I guess it shows how biased we can be by how voices sound and how we write. You sounded very confident and funny, and I guess your written posts had a very different "voice" in my head. Hmmmm...

It is always interesting to me to hear the voice behind the writing, as it is interesting to see the faces of those we read.

One of the challenges with this medium is trying to get a handle on the person, who is it that sits behind the keyboard.

You do sound different from the mental image I've gained of you. That's fine too. It reminds me of when I used to be on the radio. There was the same image vs reality dynamic going on. One day this guy came into the studio to pick up some music he'd won and just stood in the doorway staring. When I asked if I could help him he recognized the voice and stammered "uh, I...uhhh...thought you were taller." Ha, ha, ha... I give him credit for the fast comeback anyway. Guess I kind of rained on his parade that day... ~;^)

Enjoyed your story, but prefer the medium of reading (is that right?). Didn't realize you were in Los Angeles, we are not far from you, at least via work.

For me, hiding behind a keyboard is the best. I think more novelists should do that.

Hi Foxy,

I kind of enjoy being different than what people expect me to be.
