A Poor Bedside Manner

This afternoon I began to experience another physical issue. It was the second problem in a week and has me irked because I am not old enough to be breaking down like this, or so it seems it should be.

The short version is that I thought that I had a kidney stone and was in a bit of discomfort. I played it safe and visited the doctor only to find out that my blood and urine tests show no sign of a stone or infection.

My BIL the doctor thinks that I may have some kind of prostate infection. I am not old enough for this crap. Bleah.

The best part of this experience was when I asked the doc about my test results and he said that my kidney's were showing a small irregularity, but that we wouldn't know if it was kidney disease without more tests.

I considered punching him in the nose so that he could appreciate my telling him that without an X-ray we would not know if it was broken.

Hopefully it is nothing and you are feeling better soon.

I started having prostatitis when I was 26 years old. I spent a lot of my time going to my family physician, going through 7 day rounds of Cipro.

It never worked. I finally broke down and went to a urologist about two years ago... and found out some wonderful ways to eliminate that particular problem.

I went on a six week regime of doxycycline, seven days of antibitiotics (even strong ones) is not enough to get the prostate infection taken care of...

And, I do not know your personal habits, but... uhmmmm, it does no good if you do not eliminate the coffee... as sad as that sounds...

I love coffee... and from time to time go on coffee binges. But when I do, it is back to the old ways...

And usually involves the doxycycline round... and the dreaded exam... ESPECIALLY if it involves the prostate massage... I left that thing feeling a whole lot less of a man!

Good luck!

I love coffee, hopefully this is some little blip and no big deal.

You have to be on antibiotics for about a month for prostatis. Soaking in the tub helps too. There's one other thing that tends to relieve the pain, but I'm much too much of a gentleman to type that here.

Guess that it is time to clean the hot tub out and refill it.
