There are multiple rumors floating around about whether he is clinically dead, or in critical condition etc. I am not a doctor and I don't play one on TV or in cyberspace.
What I do know is that on the one hand I am not going to miss nor mourn the death of this man. I don't think that he was ever interested in bringing peace and I still think of him as a terrorist.
That being said, he was the leader of the Palestinians and in some respects the only person who could push through a real agreement on peace. His death will create some turmoil and people far smarter than I have already prepared detailed analysis and scenarios discussing what will happen.
So as a pseudo-pundit I wonder what the outcome of this will be. He did everything that he could to prevent others from gaining enough power to truly challenge him. And with his death will we see a new look spearheaded by Hamas and or other fundamentalists? Will it be a member of the old guard, or someone new.
What positition will they take on peace? Will it be a real effort to bring peace, or will it be some government that tries to buy time to establish itself with an end of goal of destroying Israel. Many questions to be answered.

I just hope that he is not martyred in death. I will always remember him for the terrorist he was, the corruption that was rampant in the PA, the peace plan he rejected (Barak/Clinton) and the pawns he made of his people.
We knew who we were dealing with, the scumbag. G-d forbid the next guy is worse.
If arafat is dead or if he resigns it will probably be succeeded by a joint leadership between mazen and ala'h. It would be unwise if sharon chooses to bypass them again, just as when they were leading the PA, because it would mean he would give the terrorists such an advantage that the palestinians will acknowledge al-aqsa and hamas as the only credible authorities. Knowing sharon and mofaz, they would do just that.
