Shalom Bayit
For those readers who are familiar with this term and what it means, I have a question. How far are you willing to go for Shalom Bayit? There are limitations to everything. I am curious to hear your thoughts.
Compromise. A very hard thing to do for a hardheaded, stubborn person. Or just give in. My great-aunt (should rest in peace) always told me to give in as much as possible. Life is too short to always argue for something you want, if it's only on principle, that is. If it's really important, then, yes, fight a little. Also, don't go to bed angry. Even if you aren't in the kissing and making up mood, at least say good night (another toughie for a stubborn person). Don't say anything negative about your spouse's parents to your spouse. Only praise your inlaws or at least find some redeeming qualities in them.
