What a waste, surely there must be a better way to spend the taxpayer's money. But I am a proponent of legalizing prostitution. It is not going away, we might as well derive some revenue from it and make it safe.

Read the rest of the article. Tax dollars are not being used for this. A group of homeowners that live in the area got together to pay for these and put them up to run the hookers and johns out of their neighborhood.
Read further & you'll see that there is gov't involvement, hence tax dollars. Anyway, I still see more important issues to resolve, then to focus on prostitution.
Sorry, no gov't involvement found in that article. Don't know what you are talking about! If you Google the foundaiton you will see that's not gov't.
If you check out the Ford Birthsite you'll see that "The Birthsite and Gardens are administered by the city of Omaha" and if you review the Omaha Community Foundation you'll see that tax dollars are funneled in there. You just have to open your eyes and dig beneath the service.
That is dig beneath the surface of the service organization.
