Rabid Anti-Bush People

Since it became known that I was undecided about who I wanted to vote for I have been approached by both Kerry and Bush supporters. All have tried to make a case for why I should go their way. Frankly few have said anything that made any real sense to me. I don't like either candidate, but I will vote for one of them.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention the encounters I have had with the rabid Anti-Bush people who love to spend endless amounts of time "hyperbolating" about the man. I am not impressed, if anything I am disappointed in the behavior of some of these people.

*You cannot compare Bush to Hitler and expect me to take you seriously.
*You cannot tell me that Bush is the reason that 911 happened and expect me to take you seriously.
*You cannot tell me that Bush is the sole reason that terrorism exists and expect me to take you seriously.
*You cannot refuse to give Bush any credit for the lack of successful attacks within the U.S. since 911.
*You cannot give me a copy of the "stupid resume" that floats around the net and expect me to take you seriously.

If the best you can say about Kerry is that he is not Bush you haven't given me any reason to vote for Kerry.

It is not about whether you like Bush/Kerry personally, it is about who is better equipped to do the job. And I am still evaluating who I wish to vote for. In every other election I knew long before Election day who I would vote for. This year is an anomaly.

I don't believe that the US will disappear under a Kerry or Bush administration. It is time for everyone to take a deep breath and calm down.

Thoughts about today

  • If Bush wins I think that at the Inauguration he should dress up as Darth Vader and Cheney can be the Emperor. Just imagine the theme to the Empire Strikes Back as background music.
  • Watching fellow drivers who are stuck in traffic is just an adventure in people watching. You may be alone but the clear windows make it easy for us all to see you pick your nose.
  • Getting stuck in an elevator in which the guy next to you has a horrific bout of flatulence does not make me smile.
  • This oatmeal sure is yummy.
  • Regardless of who wins the election the world will not end. But if it is Bush I am starting my own oil company.
  • If you had a hammer, would you hammer in the morning?
  • How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?
  • When you stand up what happens to your lap.
  • I saw a man fall down three stairs and almost choked trying not to laugh. Don't want to make fun of his pain, but I do love my slapstick comedy.
  • Two minutes later I ran into a door with my shoulder, is G-d trying to tell me something.

Death

My son asked my wife and I today if we are going to die. Kind of a heavy conversation for a little boy.

Dell Spyware Decision Spurs New Trend

"Dell reported that earlier this year, an average of 12 percent of all customer support calls to its help desk were for spyware-related trouble. Now, an average of 20 percent of calls to its help desk concern spyware. In addition, spyware calls take two to three times longer to solve, according to David Moll, CEO of security software manufacturer Webroot."

Indiana Jones where are you

I really enjoy ancient history there is so much to learn.

Still undecided

Yes, it is true, I am still undecided about who I am going to vote for. I have been busy running through platforms and positions and trying to decide what I think is most critical. I am not comfortable with many of Bush's social policies and I am not real comfortable with all of Kerry's either.

I am not convinced that either has a solid understanding of the security issues. I believe that we need a more aggressive stance and a president who will take action, so in that respect I am confident that Bush will do so. But I am not sold on his ability to make use of Allies either and still feel like I haven't heard enough about the plan for Iraq.

On the other side I am not convinced that Kerry is going to take action when necessary and will not allowed us to be handcuffed by morally bankrupt groups like the UN.

In short I am still going to vote for the lesser of two evils and I am irritated by that, immensely. I'll make a decision on this very soon. But it is likely that I will not announce it here because I am not interested in being "talked" to by Bush or Kerry groupies.

This election has been a sad exhibition of bad manners and poor judgement.
