"When you're in jail, a good friend will be trying to bail you out. A best friend will be in the cell next to you saying, 'Damn, that was fun'."
— Groucho Marx
There's a Calvin and Hobbes strip that I can't find right now but have saved on my computer:Calvin: Isn't it strange that evolution would give us a sense of humor? When you think about it, it?s weird that we have a physiological response to absurdity. We laugh at nonsense. We like it. We think it's funny. Don't you think it?s odd that we appreciate absurdity? Why would we develop that way? How does it benefit us? Hobbes: I suppose if we couldn't laugh at things that didn't make sense, we couldn?t react to a lot of life. Calvin: [blank stare] I can't tell if that's funny or really scary. ~Yeah. And related, another Calvin and Hobbes strip:Calvin: It's a funny world, Hobbes.Hobbes: True. Calvin: But it's not a hilarious world...unless you like sick humor.Hobbes: The world is probably funnier to people who don't live here, I think.(That's if I'm remembering correctly.)
I laugh alot...not so much with the crying and it's true
Chana,I always liked Calvin and Hobbes.Janet,Laughter is good. I don't think that some people do it enough.
