Want To Know Where To Store Peanut Butter

You can find the answer over here. Or you can take my word and just keep it in the pantry.

Along these lines may I add that I do not understand why some people will not eat tomatoes but still eat tomato sauce, tomato soup and or ketchup.

I'm one of those people who love ketchup, tomato sauce, etc. but don't like tomatos. I don't understand it either.

I am there with Bornfool. I love all things tomato, but don't particularly care for tomatos. Every now and again I will leave one on my In & Out burger.

I don't like raw tomatoes because I find them too tart. They make my mouth pucker.

But ketchup, tomato sauce, etc have sugar and other flavors added.

The funny thing is that I find tomato PASTE to be OK, and that's really just tomatoes, right? I don't know, maybe when it's concentrated like that, the sweetness comes out.

I hate ketchup. BLECH.

Tomatoes are slimy. And the ones from the grocery store don't even taste like real tomatoes, which makes the sliminess even more unforgivable.

I'll gleefully put up with a messy sun-ripened tomato in season, but in the off-season, I prefer my tomatoes pureed and heavily salted and sugared.

I like all of the aforementioned items. And I certainly remember the lesson our former president taught us, ketchup is a vegetable.

Ha! And here, I always thought I was crazy... I'm going with Sarah - tomatoes alone are too tart or something. I've noticed I can eat slices of it, like on a burger, and like it - but take a bite? No way.

Meanwhile, I love tomato sauces, like ketchup... but not so into tomato soup. Too "tomato"-ie.

I like tomato soup.

I love tomatoes -- fresh, organic tomatoes. I snack on them all the time.

But I hate tomato sauces. They are too un-tomatoey for me. Too sugary. Too gross. I hate spaghetti and I despise ketchup.

I Like most of everything but for some reason I don't like ketchup on Fries.

As to where to store Peanut butter sorry Guys I used to work at the Health Products and Food Branch of Health Canada (Canada's dept of Health) and I posed this question to our local food safety and epidiemiologist types.

And the answer is Peanut butter should only be stored above room temperature for no more than a few days. So PUT IT IN THE FRIDGE.

Unless it is unopenned then it will store for a few months on the shelf.

Keep in mind like all mass produced foods this stuff has already been in storage for about a year, including eggs - fresh eggs can be a year old, however they are kept in cold storage.

Bill,
Sure, the peanut butter goes rancid after a few days in the cabinet. But it's sure a lot easier to spread.
